Im not a photographer...

But I do like to play around with a camera a bit. I wish I was better at it. Maybe I should blame my point and shoot camera, and out of date software? We'll go with that ;)

I was really inspired by sheer layers yesterday. The ideas looked better in my head, still thought i'd share these with you.

I want to figure out drawing sheer layers... You will hopefully being seeing this soon.

So now I am 22 weeks and 1 day pregnant. I think my belly is pretty impressive. It hasn't grown much this month but it has changed. It now looks the same all day. Before I didn't look pregnant in the morning but by the evening I would look huge. Weird pregnancy bloat I guess. I also don't have to worry about pushing out anymore, my belly just always looks big.

I mentioned that baby boy kicks a lot right? Well maybe we should name him jumper (would never actually do that FYI) because man thats what it feels like he's doing! Jumps kicks flips all day. I swear I can hear the thuds he makes. I can definitely see him move now too!

I hope everyone is well

weeks 20-21

It's a boy!
we found out a little over a week ago, (sorry) I posted the announcement on social media but forget this nice little corner.

Isn't he precious? I was very sceptical about getting the ultrasound (because I really trust Ina May's judgment). But I'm so glad we did (I also think its great when people don't get ultrasounds, or do and wait to find out the gender, all really great). As for me, I really wanted to know if our sweet little baby is a boy or a girl. It was hard for me personally to fully bond when I didn't know how to imagine him. And now I feel so much closer to him.

During the ultrasound he was so active, must have flipped completely at least 5 times. The tech said he hadn't seen a baby this active in years, (seeing a bit of his personality already). I was concerned that Baby boy wouldn't show his stuff. After all if the ultrasound went well (i.e. no complications for baby) this is going to be the only one we would have, and we really wanted to know. But boy was it obvious! He flipped so much that we got to verify several times.  No denying baby boy :).
His ETA (according to the sonographer) November 30- December 3rd. I wouldn't be surprised if he waited till the 10th (my dads birthday) but I hope he comes right on time. Last night I dreamt that he did.

Now I am 21 weeks +1 day (photo taken yesterday) and boy does this little man kick! Not just fluttering anymore, full fledged kicks that even Zach can feel! Zach felt the first kick at 20 weeks 2 days I believe. It feels like there is something jumping in my stomach, weird but wonderful. I'm still waiting to watch my belly ripple from his movement. every time I study my belly he stops moving, its like he knows I'm watching.

So far I have only gained 9 pounds (YAY) which puts me at the very bottom of the healthy weight gain chart. I'd like to stay at the bottom of the weight chart, a 25 pound weight gain is sounding real nice. But I know that very well may not happen. Zach and I aren't tiny people I'm 5'6 he's 6'2 and we were both 8 pound babies so I expect Baby boy will be too.

Zach and I have been walking a lot lately, I think we are averaging at least 3 miles a day. I have been taking 3lb weights with me to get a good total body workout. Even though I look super silly, its so nice to feel like your upper body got a workout while walking.

Baby is swallowing amniotic fluid to practice breathing, and with his little developed taste buds he can taste it. The fluid tastes like whatever yours truly ate. Studies also show that what you eat in utero affects your baby's food preferences. So I'm trying to eat more veggies and less sugar. I don't want my boy to have a crazy sweet tooth.

Hope everyone is well!

Seabeard

My Latest Illustration Seabeard. Inspired by a photo Carissa Gallo took of David Winward husband of Sarah Winward. I took a little creative license with his beard, I've been really inspired by the sea and all things in it lately, (perhaps because it's summer). And super inspired by bearded men looking out at the sea.. reminds me of Moby Dick.  My Dad used to read me Moby Dick as a child (a little strange but awesome) Perhaps I should read it now, I would probably understand it a lot more.

Baby Makes Three

Zach and I found out we were pregnant on april 2nd, and we were quite surprised. Our plan was to wait another year, maybe two..3.... Gods plan was quite different. It was a bit hard for me to adjust to the fact, that our lives were going to change forever... Zach handled it like a pro, which was a huge support for me. Early on I wished I wasn't pregnant. Which I felt terrible about because so many Couples struggle with infertility. Deep down I knew I was very blessed to be pregnant.
God has been changing my heart and giving me a deep love and gratitude for this sweet little baby! And now I can't wait to meet him/her and be a mother.
Zach and I have been Married for 2 years, and been crazy about each other for almost 8 years. Now I can see clearly that this is the perfect time for us to be having a Baby.

Below are some bump pictures

This is me at 10 weeks, pushing out my tummy as hard as possible. I thought I could totally see a little bump.... HA!

Today I'm 19 weeks and 1 day pregnant. I finally look pregnant, and it feels so much more real now. I have felt baby flutters for 3 weeks. They have become so much more apparent over the past couple days.
We Find out if our sweet Baby is a boy or a girl this coming Tuesday, can't wait!

Dear Baby, please don't be afraid to show your stuff, We would love to know if your a boy or girl before we meet you!

P.S.
what do you think, boy or girl?
